A battle is brewing (literally) between two craft beer distilleries in the Lone Star State. Nearly two years ago, Martin House Brewing Company in Fort Worth announced their new pickle beer. It debuted August 20, 2019.
Another brewhouse in New Braunfels is calling them out saying Martin House copied their idea. New Braunfels Brewing Co. said their version was released in 2015. NBBC also said MHBC mimicked their spicy beer and fruit punch beer. In an Instagram post, the southern beermaker said they've launched a new product that combines all of those elements. It contains Tito's pickle juice, Mexican fruit punch soda, and it's aged with three different spicy peppers. "So, it’s a spicy fruit punch pickle beer," they add in another post.
Appropriately enough, New Braunfels Brewing Co. named it MRTN HSE FKR. I'm sure we can all guess what that stands for. Martin House doesn't appear to have posted a reply. We're here for the tea, or beer, just in case.
