We’re always suspicious of new “wellness” trends that get popular on TikTok, and we advise that if you attempt this one, just make sure you have a nice mat in the shower.
The latest wellness trend sweeping the internet is something called “dark showering,” where you shower in complete darkness.
According to Real Simple, turning out the lights and hopping (we actually wouldn’t recommend hopping anywhere if you can’t see) is supposed to make you calm and improve your sleep.
Be warned though, you might miss a spot if you can’t see where you’re washing, and if you don’t know the layout of your bathroom like the back of your hand you might end up with a broken toe or two, which would probably make sleeping way more difficult than just showering with the lights on in the first place.
