The Hernandez family of Dallas knew the entire family was in for a fight, especially for 3-year-old Leone.

Leone was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and understandably grew terrified of going to the hospital for appointments and chemotherapy treatments.

Thankfully, the Hernandezes came up with an amazing way to help Leone get over his trepidation about going to the hospital.

Natalia and Dario Hernandez initially bought superhero costumes for Leone, to help him be strong and courageous for his hospital visits.  Pretty soon though, they bought costumes for the entire family.

Now, the entire family shows up to every appointment and chemotherapy session dressed as superheroes!

Natalia told WFAA, "We believe we have the superpowers that we need to face this battle.  We have to make sure Leo feels that. We do it to make sure he feels the power

The Hernandezes say no doubt the costumes have helped Leone be braver.

"It's difficult to watch him battle," said Natalia, "but he has shown us everything is possible in life."
