Terms were agreed upon and even a tweet was sent out, that the Dallas Cowboys re-signed defensive standout Randy Gregory to a new five-year, $70 million contract.
However, Gregory will be suiting up for the Denver Broncos next year after contract negotiations fell through at the last minute.
Dallas News reports that allegedly, Gregory did not agree with come of the language the Cowboys tried to sneak in at the last minute (depending on who you believe) that the team would be allowed to void the deal if Gregory were to be fined or suspended.
Though no other teams utilize this kind of addendum in their contracts, apparently it's standard in every Cowboys' player's contract, except for Dak Prescott.
Gregory has had no qualms about unleashing his fury at Cowboys fans who criticized Gregory for spurning their team, calling them out as being "toxic."
Gregory also called out the Joneses, saying the owners acted out in "bad faith."
The Cowboys selected Gregory in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, though he has yet to play a full season due to various injuries and suspensions.
He missed the entire 2019 campaign after being suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
