New report says Texas is the 11th most dangerous state in the country

Business news website 24/7 Wall St. recently analyzed the FBI's 2021 Uniform Crime Report to find the 15 most dangerous states in the country.

We're sad to report these findings aren't great for the Lone Star State.


In each states on the list, the violent crime rate exceeded the national rate of 334 violent crimes reported for every 100,000 people in 2021.

Texas ranked as the 11th most dangerous state with 391.1 crimes per 100,000 people, and we also had the highest number of violent crimes committed last year at 115,474, AND the most number of MURDERS in the nation at 1,952.

The poverty rate in Texas in 2021 was at 14.2%, which ranked as the ninth highest in the country.

Per the Beaumont Enterprise, the most dangerous state in the country is Louisiana, with a violent crime rate of 564 per 100,000 people, 26,078 total violent crimes committed last year, 738 total murders committed in 2021, and a poverty rate of 19.6%.
