Tongue in Cheek Ice Cream is a staple for North Texans, although over the years there's been a major problem at the shop's flagship location off Arapaho Rd. in Richardson.

For the fifth time in the last four years, a car has crashed into Tongue In Cheek Ice Cream, and the shop's owners are waiting for the city of Richardson to do something about it.

The problem, unfortunately, is its location.

Tongue in Cheek is located right next to the big S-curve along Arapaho Rd., which drivers do not take into account as they're speeding through.

Owner Missy Smith told WFAA, "It's a crazy curve. They just fly."

The Smiths, and other business owner in the area, have been in constant communication with the city over potential changes.

The city says they have both "short-term," and "long-term" solutions.

In the short-term, there'll be more signage and more lighting to alert drivers to the curve in the road. The long-term fix is smoothing out the road, but that hinges on private business cooperation. "Something needs to happen," Smith said."

For now, the Smiths are just thankful nobody was hurt in the incident, and are grateful for the city and the volunteers who helped clean.

The ice cream shop remains open for business.
