There are few better ways for a father and son to bond with each other than through sports.
Rory McIlroy and his father bonded over golf, and it led to Rory becoming one of the best golfers in the world. Unfortunately, yesterday at the Masters tournament you probably wouldn't have been able to tell.
On the 7th hole, McIlroy attempted to hit a draw shot so it curved and landed where he wanted, so he aimed for a man standing down the fairway. Unfortunately, the shot did't curve, and headed straight for the man and winded up hitting him in the leg.
And that man was his own father!
Luckily, Gerry McIlory is fine, and even told reporters that he might ask for an autographed glove from his own son to make up for the accident.
Rory told ESPN, "He's seen me sign plenty of stuff over the years, so I think that's the least of his worries. I think he just needs to go and put some ice on -- maybe I'll autograph a bag of frozen peas for him."
