If you're sitting at the office right now in front of a computer and you feel a slight itch in your eye, please take care with how you address it.
Dr. Imane Tarib, an eye surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic has warned that rubbing your eyes can potentially lead to the very serious and incurable eye condition Keratoconus.
Dr. Tarib warns that rubbing your eyes both "gently and knuckle-rubbing aggressively" can lead to developing the condition, which, according to the Mayo Clinic, causes a cone-shaped cornea forms on your eye and causes blurred vision and a sensitivity to light and glare.
It's incurable, and life-long!
Instead for itchy eyes, Dr. Tarib advises to use eye-drops, or, rub around the eyes with clean hands.
Do NOT push into or around the eyeball as one might usually do.
