It's about that time of year for a little Spring-cleaning, though as Marie Kondo can attest, some of us just have a hard time letting go of things.
If you find yourself in this scenario, here's a helpful cleaning tip that may solve your problem: just take whatever it is you're struggling to throw away, and hide it from yourself!
Jandra Sutton wrote for Metro that when she cleans, she usually forms three piles: Keep, Toss, and Donate.
Lately though, she's added a fourth pile, a "Hide" pile, and if it's an item that you don't want to throw away but you're not sure how much you'd actually use it, Sutton recommends hiding it, and that will help you find your answer!
Sutton says that by hiding the item, you will see if you truly miss it when you can't find it and if you find you don't it will be much easier to donate or get rid of it!
Sutton also says that by hiding items, these pieces almost become "new" when she finds them, which she says makes them "far more sustainable than constantly buying new items to keep my wardrobe feeling fresh."
