Believe it or not, the end of the school year is almost here which means prom season is right around the corner.

The last two years a lot of students had altered prom experiences thanks to the pandemic, but it looks like kids this year will get to enjoy themselves to the fullest.

And a lot of folks will owe a huge thanks to St. Andrew United Methodist Church, who will be returning to host their 13th "Prom Closet," of which they had to shutter last year due to the Coronavirus.

This year, organizers expect over 1,000 girls to participate, like 14-year-old Ana Servin. She told WFAA, "I think it's awesome. Some people can't afford all the stuff, and I think it's nice."

Organizer Kay Richardson says they have girls come from as far away as Arkansas and Oklahoma to find a dress. "These dresses are all donated by our community every year," she said. "Any girl can come that's in high school and shop for a dress ... There's no proof required, but we do ask that the girl come herself to do her shopping."

You MUST register to participate in the Prom Closet, and you can register HERE.

The event occurs February 15-17 & 19, and February 21-26 at the Smith Worship Center, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano.

Each shopper must be present to select her own dress and accessories and may have one guest, age 16 or older, with them. A personal shopper volunteer will assist each shopper throughout the process!
