A discussion about TimeHop this morning triggered a memory Jeff had about a time he and his family stayed at an Airbnb while they were visiting Georgia and looking for a new home.

Apparently, this Airbnb was located in the basement of a man's home, and the entire time Jeff's family was staying there, the homeowner was staying right there with them.

Now nobody in Jeff's family had to venture into the main house to use the kitchen or bathroom as the basement was fully equipped, but there was a door into the home, with the lock being on the OTHER side of their rental, meaning he could enter the basement at any time through that door, and they could not.

That's a little unsettling, right? Couple that with the fact that one time, the homeowner ventured down into the basement while they were hanging out just to check on them. That's a little more unsettling, right?

Where does the relationship between the rentee and the renters begin and end? What's the amount of privacy to be expected when you're staying in a complete stranger's home like that?
