To students at Callisburg High School, he's known as "Mr. James."

Mr. James is an 80-year-old janitor at the school who was forced to come out of retirement after his rent was raised and he couldn't make ends meet.

Three students at the school heard his story, and created a GoFundMe campaign titled "Getting Mr. James out of this school."

At the time of this article, the donations have reached an astounding $200,000!

The students had an initial goal of raising $100,000.

"When we told him, he was kind of like, 'dang, that's alright!'," Callisburg senior Marti Yousko, who had the idea to start the campaign, told FOX 4.

"Nobody deserves to work their whole life. They deserve to enjoy everything," added student Greyson Thurman, who posted the campaign.

FOX 4 asked Mr. James for an interview. He declined, but was okay with his story being shared with others.

Callisburg ISD confirmed that as of Wednesday, Mr. James is still employed by the district and hasn't said anything to them about leaving his postion yet.
