As sad as kids are that summer is coming to an end which means in a few short weeks they'll be right back at school, we're sure their parents are elated that they'll be out of the house. Finally, some peace and quiet.
However, we know a lot of folks are dreading back-to-school shopping, as that bill can get really high really fast.
A new survey from WalletHub found that parents, on average, spend $586 per kid on back-to-school shopping!
The most expensive items parents purchase are clothes and accessories, followed by tech, like new computers and tablets, and then school supplies.
We understand it's hard to say no to that precious face, too. 61% of parents admitted that their kid usually manipulates them into spending more than they wanted to, and when you're shopping for someone else, you inevitably find a few things for yourself, as well.
50% of parents said they usually end up shopping for themselves too.
