We all thought the chicken sandwich wars were over. But no, they apparently are only just beginning because a new contender is in the mix, and they are called Taco Bell!
Taco Bell just inserted itself into the fried chicken wars by introducing their brand new Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco!
It's a piece of all-white chicken that's been marinated in jalapeño buttermilk and fried with a crunchy tortilla chip coating. It's topped in a creamy chipotle sauce, and served in a puffy bread that's shaped as a taco. There's also a spicy version that includes an additional topping of jalapeño slices.
According to CNN, the sandwich taco will only be available at participating locations in Nashville, Tennessee, and Charlotte, North Carolina, starting March 11. It will be available for $2.49.
A nationwide rollout, however, is planned for later this year.
