Our Dr. Miles Intervention this morning comes from a woman "somewhere in Texas" who is having an issue regarding her son, who is in the third grade.
Apparently, her son overheard a kid in his classroom thank his teacher for coming over to their house and obviously, this woman was confused why a teacher would ever go over to a student's house.
She then learned that the teacher is actually dating the student's dad!
The woman isn't sure of either's relationship statuses, but she is pretty sure they are single, and she normally wouldn't have an issue with a teacher dating a student's parent, but she feels that the teacher is now showing a little favoritism to the other student!
Does this woman have any recourse to talk to a principal or another school administrator about this teacher's relationship with the student's father? If favoritism is being shown that might be one thing, but how can she be certain?
Or is what the teacher does in her personal life not her business at all, and she just needs to butt out?
