We already knew that electric cars were beneficial for the environment, but we had no idea the scope of how they could affect other aspects of our lives.

Take for instance these doctors from Texas, who are claiming that they have performed "likely the world's first electric car-powered vasectomy."

Dr. Christopher Yang, a urologist from Austin, Texas, was scheduled to perform a vasectomy at his clinic when unfortunately the power went out.  They were able to find a workaround though, and used power from his fully-electric Rivian R1T truck.

According to the New York Post, a colleague jokingly suggested Yang use his truck after the power went out, and the client agreed, because he took time off work for the procedure and didn't want to reschedule.

Yang ran an extension cord from his truck into his office to power everything, and thankfully for everyone involved vasectomies don't require that much power, and the procedure only lasts about 15-20 minutes.

The truck, which has multiple 110v and 12v outlets, held up perfectly during the procedure, and even had enough juice to power a small fan in the room.

"After we were done, I told his family. We all had a good laugh together too," Yang said.

"I'm not sure that this (vasectomy) should be planned use of the truck," he added, "but it's definitely great to have that as a backup just in case."
