A student at Caney Creek High School near Conroe, Texas has admitted to using an “intense fart spray” in a prank that sent six of his fellow students to an area hospital.
According to a memo obtained by PEOPLE, Caney Creek High School Principal Jeff Stichler said, “One student has confessed, and we anticipate others may be identified through our ongoing investigation.”

The “gas smell” was first noticed Wednesday near the school’s cafeteria. The school was evacuated, and an investigation left firefighters unable to “locate any signs of gas.”
Classes resumed, but soon six students fill ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. When authorities couldn’t discover anything inherently wrong with the school, theories began floating of a prank, and ultimately the student confessed to using a “highly concentrated, prank, stink spray called Hensgaukt Fart Spray."
Principal Stichler said the school district is working with the District Attorney's Office, and "will address it to the fullest extent of the Student Code of Conduct and the laws of the State of Texas."
