For Christmas this past year, Frank Miller's wife got him a book, K: A History of Baseball in Ten Pitches. And it got the 74-year-old Dallas man itching to throw the ball again. Frank said, "And it got me all fired up. I said, 'Alice, I got to work on my cutter grip.'"
Unfortunately, Frank did not have a partner to play catch with, so Alice posted on the Nextdoor app to see if anyone would meet them at a nearby park. Well the neighborhood responded, even some baseball players from North Dallas High School to play catch.
Well the Rangers saw his story, and invited Frank and his friends to play catch at Globe Life Field.
The entire group was even greeted with prerecorded messages from longtime PA announcer Chuck Morgan.
The group played catch in Globe Life Field's outfield for about half an hour. Frank said, "I don't know how it happened, but it's been a lot of fun."
