The “12 Days of Christmas” involves a partridge in a pear tree.  How about an opossum, instead?

A Texas woman named Brett Ingram got a million views on TikTok after she posted a video of an opossum that somehow wound up in her tree!

She can be heard exclaiming, “I have no idea how this opossum got in my house and up into my tree.  I don't know how it got in here.  I don't leave my doors open. Somebody help!”

Ingram told Chron.com that her tree had been up and decorated for 10 days before she found the opossum.  She said she only discovered the animal after it sneezed in her tree!

Ingram called a local wildlife expert, who advised her to put on gloves, pick up the opossum, and place it outside, which proved to be a little more difficult than expected.

“He did NOT let go of the tree," Ingram explained, adding the creature was bigger than it appeared in the video. "It was about a 30-minute escapade."
