If they have these kinds of things swimming around in Port Aransas, you know one place we will NOT be going for summer vacation?  Port Aransas!

A Texas woman named Christina Biery recently photographed a gigantic starfish on the shores of a beach in Port Aransas.  She told MySanAntonio.com, “There were several but this was the biggest and perfect with all the legs. Its body was the size of my palm.”

Biery continued saying, “I think it got caught in some of the sea grass.  There's more than I've ever seen out there right now.”

Mark Fisher, the science director for coastal fisheries with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, said the starfish Biery found is called a “gray sea star,” and can sometimes grow to a diameter of 12 inches.
