The Human Library in Denmark isn't typically what you think a library to be.
Instead of renting out books, you "rent" out a person with the goal of having a conversation with someone you wouldn't normally have.
Per Travel.com, the conversations you can have include those that often suffer from various disorders, health ailments, or those who just generally have a unique lifestyle that "raises questions."
The Human Library started as an event back in 2000, and was known as "Menneskebiblioteket" in Danish. Today, the Human Library concept has extended to over 70 countries outside of Denmark.
A major goal of The Human Library Organization is to help people "unjudge someone," and believe that a "simple conversation is sometimes all it takes to get to know a person and have one's perspective completely altered."
