The Mavericks defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in six games to advance to the next round of the playoffs where they will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

For fans looking to purchase tickets and make the three hour drive up to Oklahoma City to see the Mavs on the road be warned: you might have a difficult time purchasing tickets.

The Thunder have restricted the ability of fans living in Texas to purchase tickets, over fears that Mavs fans would take over the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.  Fans trying to purchase tickets online are met with a message that reads:

Paycom Center is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Nebraska will be canceled without notice and refunds given.

We’re not sure how the Thunder will be able to police tickets being sold on the secondhand market, but as anyone who has purchased tickets to events secondhand knows that trouble might not even be worth it!
