Tina Turner is ready for the final chapter of her life to be one completely out of the spotlight.
The 81-year-old 'Queen of Rock 'n' Roll took the opportunity to say goodbye to her fans in HBO's upcoming documentary of the icon, simply called Tina, which will focus on her terribly rough upbringing, to finding fame and fortune and becoming the global icon she is still today, to now, where she is plagued by ill health, has survived cancer and a stroke, and a kidney transplant in 2017 after experiencing kidney failure.
Turner moved permanently to Sweden in 1994. She and her second husband Erwin Bach made a "farewell trip" to the U.S. for the Broadway premiere of the musical of her life, The Tina Turner Story.
Bach revealed in the documentary, per the NY Post, "She said, 'I'm going to America to say goodbye to my American fans and I'll wrap it up'. And I think this documentary and the play, this is it — it's a closure."
Tina premiere on HBO March 27.
