After two decades broadcasting NFL games for FOX, it looks like formers Cowboys quarterback and NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman is making the jump to ESPN.
And he is getting paid (big time) to do so.
It's being reported by Dallas News that Aikman is set to sign a contract worth five-years and $90 million with the Worldwide Leader in Sports, averaging a cool $18 million per year.
To put that in perspective, Aikman never averaged more than $9.5 million a year while he was playing!
Now to be fair, Aikman played at a time when the NFL's Salary Cap was around $34 million. Now, it's $210 million on the verge of $300 million! Still fun to think about, though.
The deal isn't set in stone yet, but when asked if Aikman would be "sharing beef brisket and potato salad with co-workers at the next Fox company picnic," he slyly replied, "Well, if I'm invited as a guest, you might."
