In 2017, Mattel released a Barbie Doll "Love Wins" t-shirt. It was a collaboration with social media influencer Aimee Song. The top, created by Song, was made to support equal rights.
Yesterday, a Twitter user named Sarah posted a photo of the duo with a link to a 3-year old story claiming Barbie had a girlfriend.

The Twitter responses were hilarious and supportive, with Aimee Song even chiming on holding her replica.
I am the girlfriend 🥰❤️ https://t.co/di7nhOIuPa pic.twitter.com/U6DC7ligns

Mattel hasn't made an official announcement, but their original 2017 post just said Barbie is "proud" to wear the Love Wins attire.
Another photo of the couple doesn't address the LGBTQ+ community at all, aside from wearing the matching shirts.
So, it appears Barbie is an ally, but we're still waiting for an update from Ken.
