Is there anything we feared more in elementary school than the dreaded lice tests? If you were the kid who had lice, you had to have your head shaved which meant everybody knew it would be you which means endless bullying.
No kid wanted lice!
However, this mom in Australia has taken a different approach to her young daughter having lice: She refuses to kill or get rid of them because she is a vegan, and in her words, "vegans don't kill living things."
You can probably imagine how all the other parents of those school kids feel.
Per the New York Post, a woman on an Australian message board wrote that she approached the vegan mother with her concerns: "She told me she was in the practice of combing the lice and nits into the garden where they had the best chance of survival, and my jaw hit the floor."
Another mother suggested that the poster "set up the bathroom to 'play hairdressers' and remove the lice herself."
