17-year-old Hailey Morinico heard some commotion in her backyard, and upon looking out the window, saw a gigantic mama bear walking on the wall with her cubs.
Morinico witnessed the bear swiping at her mother's service dog, while their other three pups ran around the yard.
The 17-year-old swiftly jumped into action, shoving the bear off the wall and grabbing one of the dogs before running back into the house. Hailey told ABC 7, "Honestly, I did not know it was a bear until right after I pushed it. I didn't register in my head that it was a bear. I was like 'It's an animal and it's taking my child' and I pushed the bear."
Thankfully, all Hailey suffered was a sprained finger during the incident. And even more thankfully, none of her dogs were injured. The teen said, "I didn't want to know what would happen if the bear hurt her or even took her, so I had to do what I had to do."
