Even though Grapevine is known as the Christmas Capital of Texas, that apparently is not enough to help the Lone Star State's festive ranking nationwide.

A new study from innerbody sought to find the most festive state in the nation, and one state stood out above all the rest: West Virginia!

Honestly, we're a little bit surprised, too.  Think about it, no other state produces more coal than West Virginia!

Apparently, the Mountain State ranked first in searches for songs, decorations, wrapping paper, ornaments, and terms like "Santa Claus," "Christmas Eve," and "Rudolph."

Following West Virginia, Idaho has the second-most Christmas spirit, then Utah, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Missouri, Wisconsin, Kansas, Kentucky, and Montana.

Sorry y'all, but Texas ranked as the 34th most festive state in the nation.  Still, that's not as bad as the states that were found to be the "grinchiest."

Taking home that prize is New York, followed by Florida, Hawaii, Maryland, and Nevada.
