It was a big day for Jada Sayles, who earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a concentration in pre-law from Dillard University.
And just hours after the names of the graduating students were read, Sayles gave birth to her first child!
Less than a day after giving birth, college President Walter Kimbrough went to Ochsner Baptist Medical Center to hand Sayles her degree in a hospital ceremony.
Sayles told Fox News, "It just feels unreal. After Dr. Kimbrough gave me my degree, I didn't realize how big [the moment] was."
Sayles was not too disappointed she had to miss the actual ceremony with her fellow graduates.
She said, "Easton was there in my arms. It's definitely memorable so that's the highlight of my academic career, honestly."
