26-year-old Gertrude Ngoma of Zambia recently filed a lawsuit against her boyfriend of eight years, 28-year-old Herbert Salaliki.
Apparently, Salaliki had been promising Ngoma marriage, but eight years in, he hasn't popped the question. They even have a kid together!
Tired of waiting, Ngoma decided to file a lawsuit, telling the courts, "He has never been serious, that is why I [brought] him to court, because I deserve to know the way forward and our future."
Salaliki defended himself saying he is not currently in a financial position to afford a wedding and he even accused Ngoma of not giving him sufficient attention in their relationship.
Unfortunately, judge Evelyn Nalwize told Ngoma that the court could do nothing for her as there was no formal marriage.
