A battle is brewing in Nashville, TN over a woman and her next-door neighbor, a barbecue restaurant in which she claims is ruining her quality of life.
For nine years, Roy's Meat Service on 19th street has been smoking and grilling meats and serving takeout meals from his market. Two years ago, a woman moved into the home that backs up to Roy's, and it's been a fight ever since.
According to NewsChannel 5, among other things, the woman complains that "part of the store encroaches on her property, and smoke from his constant grilling is a nuisance."
Though owner Jeff Roy says his market complies with all codes, that didn't stop the neighbor from filing a lawsuit, claiming that the store affects her "ability to enjoy her property as well as negatively affects her health."
Roy said she wanted to shut his place down, though h said they aren't going anywhere. "We are just a little country store here in the middle of East Nashville. We want people to feel it when they come that it's a family-run business," said Roy.
