Bradley Cooper definitely has an affinity for dramatic musical stories.
Many will remember Cooper as rocker Jackson Maine fighting a doomed relationship with Lady Gaga’s Ally in the hit 2018 reboot of “A Star is Born,” which was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars that year.

Now Cooper’s taking on an in-real-life musical legend, conductor/composer Leonard Bernstein, in an upcoming Netflix biopic, “Maestro.”
Not that you’d know it from the first images of the production that were just released.
In the photos, Cooper is barely recognizable, either as the young, dashing classical music conductor in some lovely black and white shots, or as the older, gray-haired Bernstein.
Carey Mulligan also appears as Bernstein's wife, Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein.
The film will delve into the life of the legendary music man, who was the first American conductor to receive international acclaim.
He soon translated his song composition skills into creating scores for “West Side Story,” “Peter Pan,” “On the Town,” and many more musical theater smashes.
“Maestro” will mainly focus on the love affair between Berstein and his wife, a stormy relationship that spanned three decades.

As Entertainment Weekly further reported, the film will also star Maya Hawke and Matt Bomer. Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg will act as co-producers. Spielberg directed the 2021 remake of "West Side Story."
As he did with “A Star is Born,” Cooper will star in and direct “Maestro."
There is no release date yet set for the film.
