From “Bridesmaids” to bride!
Kristen Wiig has disclosed she tied the knot with longtime partner Avi Rothman.
The 47-year-old actress made the lowkey admission during an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
Wiig, who was promoting her new movie “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar,” was recounting a story about thinking Rothman was going to propose during a trip to South America.
Upon finishing the tale, Colbert asked for further clarification as she had referred to Rothman as “my boyfriend at the time.”
“Oh no, no. I meant, because he’s now my husband,” Wiig said. “We did get married.”
The newlywed didn’t reveal any further details such as when and where the nuptials took place.
The “Saturday Night Live” alum began dating the filmmaker in 2016. The couple kept their relationship very private and were engaged in 2019. In June 2020, they welcomed twins via surrogate.
Six months later, Wiig opened up about the joys of motherhood.
"It's the best,” she told “Entertainment Tonight” in December. “I know everyone always says that, and everyone says, like, 'It changes how you look at the world and how you see love. Now it's just such a bigger thing,' and all of that stuff is so true," she said. "... Now that I have kids, it's like, 'Oh, I don't want this to be about me, I don't wanna think about me anymore.'"
"Just having these two other little beings that I get to take care of is so amazing and, even though it's hard, I feel more relaxed in a way," she shared. "I don't know why, but I had this sense of, like, calm after they were born."
