When it comes to monogamy, Nick Cannon has some opposing views. The 41-year-old media personality believes that having one partner at a time isn't necessarily “healthy.” Calling himself a "lover" and a "hopeless romantic," Cannon opened up about his unconventional lifestyle on The Language of Love podcast, hosted by relationship therapist Dr. Laura Berman.

“You can make a covenant where two people say, ‘We choose to be monogamous because we value this so much that we don’t want anyone else to be a part of this or intrude this energy that we have.’ And I just don’t feel like that’s healthy,” said Cannon. “I don’t feel like monogamy is healthy. I feel like that gets into the space of selfishness and ownership.”
The former America’s Got Talent host also spoke about his relationships with the mothers of his children. “I'm gonna take full responsibility," said Cannon. "Every woman that I have a child with, there's definitely been conversations about how amazing this would be and I feel like every woman I have a child with are amazing mothers. There was a thought process going into it, like, 'Man, she would be an amazing mom' or 'I can't wait to see what type of mother she would be.' So in saying that I would say they're all planned."
Cannon has a total of seven children, including 10-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey. Tragically, his 5-month-old son Zen, whom he shared with influencer Alyssa Scott, passed away in December after a battle with brain cancer. Cannon also recently announced that he’s expecting his eight child with model Bre Tiesi this year.
