Queen becomes first UK band to sell 10 million with ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

Queen’s "Bohemian Rhapsody" may have been released in 1975, but the iconic song is still collecting accolades. It was announced recently that Queen became the first UK band to reach 10 million in US sales with "Bohemian Rhapsody." Even after all these years, fans still can’t get enough of the beloved song.

Queen’s new “diamond” status was announced this week by the Recording Industry Association of America, after reaching the milestone with 10 million sales or streaming equivalents in the United States.

“This is incredible news. At times like this I have to pinch myself to be sure it’s real,” said Queen member Brian May. According to NME, Queen is the first band from the UK to have a song certified “diamond.”

“It’s a wonderful and gratifying thought to know the song has reached out and connected with so many people!” said Roger Taylor about the achievement. Many fans congratulated the band for their latest accomplishment. Years later, and it has become clear; "Bohemian Rhapsody" isn’t going anywhere.
