The Rolling Stones continued their No Filter tour with a performance at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas earlier this week as Mick Jagger took a jab at a local politician.
When he caught wind of the criticism, Sen. Ted Cruz seemingly appreciated the “shout out.”

Jagger was introducing the song “Living in a Ghost Town,” a single the Rolling Stones put out in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, when he called out Cruz.
"Now we’re going to do our lockdown song… that Ted Cruz so enjoyed in Cancun!" Jagger told the crowd. Jagger was referencing the controversy that stemmed from Cruz traveling to Mexico in the midst of a deadly winter storm that left millions of Texans without power.
“Of all the things I never imagined would happen, a shout out from @MickJagger may be near the top of the list….” Cruz responded on Twitter.
Jagger has been embroiled in controversy lately as Paul McCartney called out The Rolling Stones and accused them of being nothing more than “a Blues cover band.”
Mick then turned around and poked fun at McCartney during their show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. “There’s so many celebrities here tonight. Megan Fox is here, she’s lovely. Leonardo DiCaprio, Lady Gaga, Kirk Douglas,” he told the crowd.
“Paul McCartney is here… he’s going to help us — he’s going to join us in a blues cover later!”
