In 2019 the Spice Girls took off on a world tour, sans Victoria Beckham, but the pandemic halted any plans for more shows and tour dates.
Now, as we are seeing the return of live events and tours crop back up for the later part of the year and into 2022, Emma has shared she is “dying” to perform with Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell, and Beckham. Plus, she is certain more tour dates will happen.
Bunton told Radio X’s Chris Moyles, “We started talking about maybe doing some more and then locked out happened, which is such a shame. I’m dying to do it again. I’m waiting to see what’s going on in the world. You can’t book anything yet, so we’re waiting for that moment, but I’m sure that will happen when we can!”
As of right now, as the band patiently awaits uniting again, the Spice Girls are focusing on celebrating Pride Month.
Beckham recently designed t-shirts, where profits go to help combat homelessness amongst LGBTQ+ youth. The fashion mogul enlisted help from her bandmates to spread the word.
In a new Instagram video promoting the t-shirts that read, “proud and wannabe your lover” each of the women are posing in the shirts from Beckham’s 2021 Pride collection as “Wannabe” plays throughout the video.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from the “Victoria Beckham x Spice Girls ‘Wannabe’ Pride T-shirt,” will go to the UK-based organization, akt charity.
The video is captioned, “100% of the proceeds go to the brilliant @aktcharity to continue funding the wonderful work they do to combat youth homelessness in the LGBTQ+ community. #Pride2021 #FriendshipNeverEnds,” and concludes with a Pride flag emoji.
Beckham also shared the video on her personal Instagram and wrote, “Pride to me is a celebration of being completely yourself and this year's T-shirt is a reminder of that. The Spice Girls really championed accepting yourself and others, being kind, having fun, and just living your best life!"
She also added, “The LGBTQ+ community is so close to my heart and I'm so proud to be supporting Pride 2021 with the girls and akt again this year."
