12/09/2020Dear Johnny,I am writing this letter because we have had a tough last fewyears. My daughter Sara, who is 37, has brain cancer andhas had two surgeries. She is a single mom with 2 kids, 11 &4. She had her second surgery and it left her with paralysison her left side. They told her she would be in rehab severalmonths. She walked out with a cane 6 weeks later, pure willand determination. Her most recent MRI shows yet anothersuspected tumor. We all know it would be hard for her bodyto take another surgery. Her 11 year old has seen more anddone things for his mother that most adults have to do. Hehas helped her get dressed, get to the shower, clean, cook, put her braces on her leg, etc. She used to be so athletic, but the cancer has taken its toll. To supplement herdisability, she works at a local grocery store. I have watchedher children for her since they were little. I operated adaycare for years, but closed it due to COVID and her fatherrecently battling prostate cancer. I have taken a night job ata delivery warehouse to help with bills and so I can be homeduring the day to help with the kids. In January, Sara and thekids are coming to live with us full time. I know she still owesrent for the month of December and I just don’t have it. HerDad and I have always helped with Christmas, but this yearhas been tough. Thank you for taking the time to read myletter and happy holidays.- Tammy
