Dear Johnny,I want to start off by saying this is a very hard letter for me towrite. I have been married for 7 years to my husband, John.We have both been working and making ends meet (I workas a nurse at a nursing home). My husband served in themilitary. He was in the Marine Corps for five years. This yeara buddy of his from the military, his name is Billy, hadreached out to friends about needing a kidney transplant. Hewas suffering from end stage kidney disease and wassearching to find a donor. John filled out all of the paperwork, went through the COVID quarantine, tests, the blooddraws, etc. and found out that he was a match. We traveledto Philadelphia in October to have the surgery on October13th. His wife and family were ecstatic that someone he hadbeen friends with 20 years ago would give up an organ tosave their loved ones life. We have no regrets about Johnhaving the surgery, but it has put us behind financially.During his recovery, his job hours had been cut back, and bythe time he was ready to go back to work they’d cut back thehours so much that there really was no job left to go to. Hestarts a new job soon and I’m so proud of him, but in themeantime I just don’t know how I’m going to get caught up.Thank you for reading my letter and we appreciateeverything you do.- Randi
