How to score free fries at McDonald’s and Wendy’s for National French Fry Day

Fried potato lovers rejoice! Today, July 13th, is National French Fry Day.

In honor of the beloved side dish, fast food chains are giving aficionados discounts and freebies to fully enjoy french fries today.

On Wednesday, McDonald’s is taking part in the holiday by offering a free order of large fries with no purchase necessary. In order to claim this most awesome of delicacies, customers must place the order via the McDonald’s app.

Wendy’s is making the event a week-long celebration. On Wednesday, fans can score an order of fries (any size) with any mobile order purchase via the Wendy’s app. On Thursday, a free order of small breakfast seasoned potatoes is available when you place any mobile order on the app. On Friyay, a free order of medium fries can be all yours if you place a mobile order for any size fries on the Wendy’s app.

“Fries deserve to be celebrated, so that's exactly what Wendy's is setting out to do,” the chain said in a press release. “Fans can indulge in a perfect balance between the hot, fluffy potato and subtle crispiness – and eat "fries" all week long. Perfect any time, from a lunch time snack that pairs perfectly with a Frosty to starting your morning with Wendy's perfectly Seasoned Potatoes – the options are endless.”

While Burger King hasn’t announced an exclusive offer for National French Fry Day, it previously launched a way to get free fries all year long. By joining BK’s Royal Perks digital loyalty club, members can add an order of fries of any size to their order once a week at no extra cost. The offer is good for the rest of the year.
