Fans attending Waters’ show can expect politics to be on full display (literally and figuratively) as he uses set design, video boards and more to help communicate a message he says is centered around “community” and “communication.” To guarantee a like-minded audience, Waters broadcasts a blunt message to all concert-goers to make sure everyone is on the same page.

“If you’re one of those ‘I love Pink Floyd, but I can’t stand Roger’s politics’ people, you might do well to f**k off to the bar right now,” a message reads at the beginning of each set. “Thank you, and please enjoy the show.”

Waters recently sat down for an interview with CNN’s Michael Smerconish regarding his tour and using it as an opportunity to broadcast his views. When asked about the message, he shared, “it’s a really good way to start the show. Apart from anything else, it sets a few things straight.”

“It also encourages a lot of the people who’ve come to the show because they have listened to everything I’ve written since, you know, 1965 or wherever I started writing songs [laughs]. So, they do know what my politics are and they do understand where my heart is and they understand sort of why I’m there.”

So what about the people who love the music but not all of the politics? Waters shared he’s fine with those who disagree sticking around so long as they “don’t annoy the people who do understand what’s going on in the arena.”
