BI-LO Closing 4 Upstate Stores

The parent company of BI-LO says it will be closing four more stores in the Upstate.  All are expected to close on or before March 25. 

Southeastern Grocers recently emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with 575 stores.  They closed a total of 94 stores inlcuding 22 BI-LO stores and 72 others under the co-owned banners nationwide of Winn-Dixie, Harvey's Supermarket and Fresco Y Mas. Remodeled area stores included locations in Five Forks and on Verdae Boulevard, Greenville.  At one point, Southeastern Grocers had some 704 locations. 

The stores planned for closure locally are: 

  • 1315 S. Pleasantburg Dr., Greenville, SC 29605
  • 14154 E. Wade Hampton Blvd, Greer, SC 29651
  • 2199 Southport Road, Spartanburg, SC 29306
  • 2700 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC 29671

Southeastern Grocers says they have stores throughout seven southeastern states including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina.
