Confirmed Tornado Touched Down

The National Weather Service says a tornado caused damage in Abbeville County in South Carolina.The EF1 tornado with 85 mph winds was part of a storm system Friday night.The National Weather Service confirmed the tornado while surveying damage Saturday north of Abbeville from a severe thunderstorm. Multiple trees and power lines were blown down around 6:20 p.m. in the area of Pinehurst Street.NWS officials say the storm touched down about 6:18 p.m. and was there until about 6:23 p.m. While there, it traveled 1.7 miles at a maximum path width of 75 yards.There were no fatalities or injuries.
