A court date has been set for the accused killer of Samantha Josephson.

Nathaniel Rowland, the suspect arrested and charged with the murder and kidnapping of South Carolina student Samantha Josephson, is slated to appear in court later in April.

His first court appearance is schedule 9 am on April 22 at the Richland County Judicial Center in Columbia. That’s according to Richland County’s court index.

Rowland previously exercised his right not to be present at the bond hearing that took place on March 31.

Twenty-one-year-old Samantha Josephson was last seen getting into Rowland’s car, which she had thought was her Uber ride. Police say Rowland trapped her using the car’s child safety locks.

Her body was found 12 hours later by turkey hunters in Clarendon County, just a few miles from Rowland’s home.

Samantha’s blood and hair were found in the car. She had reportedly been stabbed to death, from her head down to her feet, according to Rowland’s arrest warrant.

He could face the death penalty if convicted.
