The Highway Patrol says two 6 year-old children were killed in a head collision in Pickens County Sunday night. The crash happened around 10PM on Highway 183 near the intersection of Concord Church Road.
Jennifer Lynn Knox was driving a vehicle that attempted to pass another vehicle pulling a boat trailer, when she struck a third vehicle head-on. Knox’s vehicle overturned, slide off the roadway striking a culvert and then overturned again.
Knox and the two children were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle. The two 6 year-olds were taken to a hospital where they later died of their injures. Knox was airlifted to a hospital. Her condition is not currently known.
The driver of the vehicle struck head-on was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. The Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation of the crash.
