A deputy with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office was involved in an armed conflict while responding to a vehicle theft near Inman.
The deputy responded to the residence on Holly Springs Church Road Wednesday morning at about 5:30 a.m.
When confronted by the officer, the suspect presented a gun and then shots were fired.
The deputy was not hurt, but the suspect's condition is currently unknown.
