Individuals with prior criminal backgrounds will get some help again this year to try to find a job thanks to the third annual Greater Upstate Reentry Job Fair & Expo.
It will be held Wednesday, April 10, from 10am-1pm at McAlister Square on Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville. The event is sponsored by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce, S.C. Department of Social Services, the United States Probation Office, SC Works, and S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation.
The expo is designed to help former inmates to overcome obstacles finding a job after their release.
The job fair and expo will include employers from the Upstate who are friendly to hiring those with a criminal background. Organizations will also be present to provide resources for former inmates including workshops on how to seek expungements and pardons of criminal records.
