The annual Music By the Lake series begins this Thursday at Furman University

Music By the Lake outdoor concert series, which began in 1968, will feature 10 performances (weather permitting) from Broadway tunes to jazz and their always popular traditional patriotic performance right around Independence Day.  As always, all concerts are FREE and open to the public.

Music by the Lake for 2019 opens this Thursday, May 23 with "Marches from Around the World," performed by the Lakeside Concert Band.  The Director of Bands, Leslie W. Hicken, enters retirement at Furman University but he will continue to lead the Music by the Lake Summer Concert Series.

All concerts start at 7:30pm at the Furman Lakeside Amphitheater on campus. One lucky person at each Thursday night performance will receive a concert picnic basket filled with goodies.
