In Tuesday's special GOP primary election for the State House District 19 seat, Patrick Haddon defeated Bill Addis.
Haddon, a former Greenville County Republican Party Chariman and Greenville businessman, will now face Democrat Carrie Counton in the August 20 special election.
The western Greenville County district 19 seat was vacated when State Representative Dwight Loftis was elected in a special election to fill the State Senate seat that had been held by Williams Timmons who was elected to the US House of Representatives in November.
