A Liberty man was shot as Anderson County Deputies were serving a warrant on him this morning. Just after 9:30AM, Deputies went to a home on Shadow Hills Lane in Liberty to serve a domestic violence warrant on 73 year-old Michael Wayne Sloan.
When deputies arrived, Sloan was armed with a firearm at a door of the residence. Sloan raised the weapon at deputies and at least one shot was fired by a Deputy that struck Sloan. SWAT personnel responded and were able to take Sloan into custody without further incident.
EMS personnel responded and transported Sloan for treatment. As a standard procedure Sheriff McBride has requested the State Law Enforcement Division respond to investigate the incident.
